Less than 2 years’ service 22 days
2 or more years’ service 25 days
5 or more years’ service 25 days
10 or more years’ service 27 days
15 or more years’ service 28 days
20 or more years’ service 30 days
Northern Ireland Transitional Allowance
This allowance is £3,372 with effect from 1 September 2019.
Competence Related Threshold Payment
With effect from 1 September 2013 the rate of the Competence Related Threshold remains at £1,224.

Even if you are not automatically ineligible for jury service because of 1, 2 or 3 above does not apply to you, but subsequently receive a SUMMONS to serve on a jury, a request that you be excused from service can still be made by forwarding a a letter which states that 'due to both the nature of the individual's duties and from a personal security perspective I (the relevant Chief Inspector) believe exemption is justified'.
However you must comply with the Summons unless the Courts Service has replied and granted the requested exemption.
