PFNI calls for clarification on pay
The Police Federation for Northern Ireland (PFNI) is calling for clarification as to whether or not a devolved Minister has to sign-off on a pay increase for Officers.
The Police Federation for Northern Ireland (PFNI) is calling for clarification as to whether or not a devolved Minister has to sign-off on a pay increase for Officers.
PFNI Chairman, Mark Lindsay, said: “We were told a pay increase required ministerial sign-off, yet we see a decision taken by a Permanent Secretary to grant permission for a waste incinerator at Mallusk.
“This is a situation that doesn’t stack up. How can it be alright for a Department to deny Officers what they are entitled to and for another Department to exercise full executive power without a Minister?
“We are far from happy with this situation and will be seeking answers to our questions later today.”
